Town elections for the office of Commissioner occur on the second Tuesday in May in every year.   Elections are held at the Brookeville Academy.

 


Voter Registration

There shall be a registration on the first Monday in April in every year, of qualified persons not registered to vote with the Montgomery County Board of Elections.  If you are not registered to vote with the Montgomery County Board of Elections, please fill out a Registration form and return it to Town.  Every person who is registered in accordance with the provisions of the Town Charter shall be a qualified voter of the Town and shall be entitled to vote at any or all Town elections.

Candidate Nomination

  1. Persons shall be nominated for elective office in the Town by filing a certificate of nomination with the Board of Supervisors of Elections on or before the second Monday in April next preceding the Town election. Such certificate shall identify the office being sought and contain the name and signature of the candidate and such other information necessary to determine his or her proper qualification for that office.
  2. No person shall file for nomination to more than one elective town public office or hold more than one elective town public office at any one time.

Candidates shall have resided in the Town for at least one year immediately preceding the election and shall be qualified voters of the Town. Commissioners shall maintain a permanent residence in the Town during their term of office.
